PHONOSOPHIE LS-2 speaker cable

PHONOSOPHIE LS-2 speaker cable is featured in the August 2007 edition of HI-FI CHOICE, on sale from 28th June.

Comparing it with Chord Signature as an alternative to Naim's NACA5, Paul Messenger comments that "A more affordable contender is Phonosophie LS-2, costing £30 per metre (plus termination). Phonosophie is a German brand with some links to Naim - proprietor Ingo Hansen used to distribute Naim in Germany - and LS-2 looks rather like NACA5, though it's claimed to use higher-purity copper conductors, and certainly sounds both sweeter and brighter at the top end, with a slightly dry overall character. In some systems it could well be preferred to Chord Signature, and certainly represents a very interesting option for Naim amp users."

LATEST REVIEWS

The ALR JORDAN Entry XL is reviewed in the April 2007 edition of  HI-FI CHOICE.

Paul Messenger comments that the speaker delivers music "with superior coherence, good transparency and a fair measure of dynamic life and expression. Timing is particularly deft here, and the Entry XL certainly manages to capture some of the agility and deftness associated with good quality stand-mounts. Imaging is good  with fine focus and good depth.

The XL has an attractively agile sound with good transparency, very superior voicing and fine communication skills."

LATEST REVIEWS

The brand new mini-monitor speaker from   ALR JORDAN, the £500 Classic 1, is reviewed in the February 2007 editions of two UK magazines :

- In HI-FI CHOICE, Alvin Gold reviews the speakers with their matching ES72 stands. He describes the  diminutive Classic 1 as "a  very tidy and capable miniature, especially on the optional stand, which is a good physical and aesthetic match."

- HI-FI WORLD's Adam Smith states that the "speakers never missed a trick in terms of detail without ever becoming harsh, even at higher volumes. It is difficult to believe that such an expansive and encompassing sound can come from such tiny boxes, but it does."

Also in HI-FI WORLD :

 - Channa Vithana reviews the £350 Entry M and matching ALR speaker cable in the context of  a sub £1000 vinyl replay system, because he "knew the Entry Ms were going to provide outstanding tempo, phrasing and rhythm". He chose the  ALR speaker cable  "priced at a very reasonable £1.75 per metre because it matches the cable used internally"  in the Entry M.
